that sound lockups are still a real problem in Windows XP, capable of hard locking the whole operating system, and Windows Vista new sound stack addresses this issue head on- the sound doesn't operate as part of the kernel anymore. About the only thing left that could still crash the OS for many users.

Windows Vista does not allow you to do a ctrl/alt delete so you have to manually turn off the computer. I am very dissapointed in the product.
